Kurt Arrigo

This photographic artist is one of the greatest specialising in marine photography. Through his illustrious and varied career, Kurt has notably entered numerous high-level international sailing competitions, swum with hammerhead sharks and even undertaken environmental projects from the Galapagos to the Himalayas.

Born in 1969 on the Mediterranean island of Malta, the artist’s passion for all things marine became evident from a very young age, when he took to the water to learn to swim, dive and sail. Becoming a professional photographer in 1992 to cover the America’s Cup, he was consequently approached to photograph various other regattas such as the Rolex Fastnet Race and La Barcolana.

Beyond mere advertising alone, his work also found a showcase in the famous Underwater Photography World Championship in the Red Sea in 1995 and the annual Communications Arts photography competition in 1997, before going on to win the prestigious Yacht Racing Image of the Year prize in 2012. The artist offers a truly eye-opening insight into life under the water.
